With every advancement in human history, the effectiveness of communication seems to be getting better and better. Whether this is with the first communicative drawings depicting stories, the formation of words, telegraphs, and now computers. Is this all for the better for the human mindset? Instinctively communication is human nature. As people, we express ourselves in many types of ways, physically with gestures, auditory, or even indirectly with forms of art. Communication is the key to success as a collective.

I was born in 2002, this was a time in which 911 just happened. Politically national security was the absolute…

Hello, my fellow students. I am talking today to discuss the problem in which our society is in and how it is getting worse. I am talking about the detrimental effects of “Neo-liberalism”. We are in the age of technology. We are in the age of growth. We are in the age of development. But nothing has changed in terms of the human well being. There are still huge problems within the world that has never been dealt with. The companies that hold most of this countries capital are not doing anything for the greater good. This is caused because…

Extremely well articulated. I really liked how you went in depth with the root of humor in the human mind. I also really liked how you transitioned into each topic very smoothly. I do believe if a person can be self aware enough to understand both sides of cultures and make humor of that, that would be top comedy.

In recent years meme culture has changed the our whole perception on what we view as humor. Meme culture is a huge part of every young person’s life today. Memes rooting from forums and accounts somewhat have a community within itself. These forums create a space in which like minded people can come together and share their ideas. This is where issues can occur. It is known that because of the internet, people who share ideologies can come together and further their input into what they think. This can create an environment in which hate is builded off one another…

My cultural identity is a part of me I have to understand must only be seen by a select few, depending on the person/environment. I grew up in a household and neighborhood that corporate America would deem as unprofessional and ignorant. My upbringing plays a huge part of my personality. When I am comfortable I tend to use slang and have somewhat of a “urban accent”. Due to discrimination and systematic oppression this type of communication is frowned upon by places that would deem itself as professional. I always seem to be in a constant state of vigilance because of…

Very intreseting outlook on current technology and communication. I like how you took a stand on how important it is for someone to develop a skill in which they should be able to read a person through text. It is almost like everyone needs to adapt to this new way.

When is efficiency too efficient to include natural human senses. As technology is growing, so is the way that we processes different information as well. In a statistical standpoint we are becoming more and more efficient, either that being automation or with the new quick way of communication such as text. Texting is an extremely new concept to the everyday human life. Introduced in 1992 texting became the absolute norm that we know today. Texting was composed to be quick and efficient. To say that texting does not convey an expressive humane connection is an understatement. …

I would say that I am more of a reserved person, so presentations are not my strong suit. When I was younger I felt like I always had trouble with articulating my thoughts. I was very much in my head, but as I matured this self conscious idea left and I began to find my sweet spot in which I can be passionate when talking. I feel as when I am more passionate when talking, the audience can feel this and will listen. I think that I found my this passionate sweet spot when talking for my presentation. I also…

The initial hit of COVID-19 in the US seemed to have caused the most hysteria we have seen this whole decade. When looking back at when COVID-19 was just beginning to spread to local cities, people were at their highest emotion. People were reacting strongly to the news that this was a virus that is highly contagious and has the ability to kill. I my self remember when people were panic buying at grocery stores and buying toilet paper for no reason at all. A lot of this is to blame our country for. Realistically this country was not prepared…

With every large advancement of technology the incentive for people with power to control that new said technology grows. In this current state of the world the idea of control is a huge topic of discussion. Whether it be in the domain of finance. Such as the race to compute an AI that will auto trade stocks at high frequencies for large corporations, that will ultimately create an endless income of money. As well as in the domain of politics in that being the scandal of Facebook fact checkers purposely running advertisements to poorer neighborhoods that displayed the wrong election…
